The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has authorized the installation of a second transformer at the Southside substation located in New Ulm, Minnesota.
The bid, which was estimated at U.S. $237,000—almost $200,000 less than the original engineer’s estimate—was awarded to Conductor Power.
The 69 kV transformer is expected to be delivered within the first week of March.
The new addition will help meet growing power needs thanks to industrial expansion in the area.
